Hurks builds191 holiday homes in Safaripark Beekse Bergen

Date: 16.05.2017

Under assignment from Libéma, Hurks will be building 191 holiday homes at Safari park Beekse Bergen in Hilvarenbeek. The park is investing €100 million in a new resort at the existing recreation complex. A total of 425 holiday homes will be built in the heart of the safari park, in the shape of lodges, safari tents and tree huts, and Hurks will be realising the first phase. Activities will start in mid-June.

The whole process - from the moment the first quote was submitted to the moment when the assignment was awarded - took approximately 18 months. Hurks was required to create a couple of sample homes during this period. Because the company optimised the original design and approached the theme in a creative manner, price was not the only reason why Libéma opted for Hurks. For instance, the leisure group was attracted by the professionalism, quality, approach, communication and enthusiasm of the Hurks construction team

The resort is being realised on a site measuring 42 hectares and will be built in two phases. The first part – 239 lodgings – will be handed over before the summer of 2018. Another 186 lodges, safari tents and tree huts will be realised in a later phase. The resort is adjacent to the existing safari park and is being realised at the site of the former Safari Camp. This will make visitors feel like they are in an African savannah.
